This is the start of a series of photos from the same afternoon, April 1, 2005. I took these photos from my back yard after seeing the ligt effects on the “golden” tree.
Since the blog operates in reverse chronological order, that’s the way the pictures will appear, too — including within any posting.

Almost clear sky — with this photo, you’d think this was a normal day.

Clear Sky before the Storm.

This tree normally is a deep green, and was after the sky changed back to normal. This amazing color was the trigger for me to run grab the camera.
The lighting effects and sky will be much more dramatic. Despite the dramatic view, there never was any rain.
Again, this whole series of photos were taken on one afternoon with a Canon G2, without any special filters or other pre-exposure effects. The camera was in “snapshot” mode for the whole series of 22 pictures that I plan to post. The only post-processing was resizing from 2272×1704 to 512×384.
