I recently checked out Abebooks.com to see how it worked.
You see, I had two goals –
1. To find a copy of a book that I had lost in 1977 because of a flood, and
2. To see it it was worthwhile as for affiliate sales.
On #2, maybe not, as the affiliate percentage is tiny.
On #1, though, it was fantastic. I typed in “Prologue to Analog” into the title field in the search box — and virtually instantly found a large number of copies at individual book sellers.
The descriptions and prices surprised me, too. Most vendors had good descriptions of the book and dust jacket quality and LOW prices. I ended up buying my copy for $1.99 plus about $4 in shipping.
Not bad! I plan to do business with them again — both buying books and via affiliate sales.
