Coneflower photos from the back yard October 8th, 2006

These two photos were the same day as the previous photo, again in my back yard.
The camera was a Canon G2 operating in automatic mode.
Well-worn fence photo October 8th, 2006

This was a fun shot in the back yard early last year. This section of older fence spent the mornings in the shade of a large oak tree and only got direct sun for two or three hours a day.
The relationship to web design is simply that this is a test of actually putting a photo into a Serendipity blog.
Followup – NBC’s new Heroes October 5th, 2006
After watching the first episode of NBC’s new “Heroes” show, I wasn’t too impressed.
The second episode was a lot better. This show seems to be pulling itself together quickly, with major plot steps quickly.
We learned in episode 2 that there’s a world-changing event happening in a month (we also learned exactly what it is, but I’m not going to post a spoiler). We saw the heroes in their ordinary lives trying to adjust to their strange new powers — each person with apparently a single, unique power.
And, we saw “the bad guy…” but we don’t know why he’s bad, except that the narrator told us.
This one stays as a “Favorite” on my SageTV home theater PC, which means it will continue to be recorded whenever it shows up, as long as I haven’t watched the particular episode.
Love that SageTV in a home theater PC! Think of it as TiVo® on super steriods. Plus, none of the nasty DRM and proprietary storage format that you get with Windows Media Center!
Coffee Order Time Again October 4th, 2006
I just realized that I was out of my favorite blend of green coffee beans that I roast for espresso.
Sweet Maria’s, the small proprietorship whose site is close to heaven for home coffee roasters, has a bunch of new coffee beans.
I started looking at the new bean arrivals and decided i needed a little help. So, I opened up my email program and clicked on my Homeroast email folder — they sponsor the Homeroast mailing list for their customers.
Les, another customer, wrote yesterday and today about two of the new coffees. All too often, what Les likes, I like.
So, today’s order was 5 pounds of Sweet Maria’s “Espresso Monkey” blend, 5 pounds of the 2006 El Salvador “The Juan Francisco Project” green coffee beans and two pounds of the Brazil Cachoeira Yellow Bourbon green coffee beans.
What do I do with them? Read more about home roasting coffee on my TerryStockdale.com site (and read about espresso, brewing, grinders and more).
