Saturday 7/31/04 — PC Tuneup Day July 31st, 2004
Saturday was another busy volunteer day at the Cajun Clickers Computer Club.

We do a PC Tuneup Day for our members every couple of months as a club fund-raiser. Some folks come in with detailed symptoms and things they want checked. In other cases, the computer "is running slow." All the work is done by club volunteers. Members are charged $20 for each computer.

We started with a virus-checking station. The dubious grand prize winner (recognition, no prize awarded) had over 1,200 files infected with Netsky. We started the antivirus station last time, which was a big improvement in efficiency. This accomplished the slow virus checking before the PC was turned over to a guru for checkout.

My Saturday started off as a guest on the Cajun Clickers Radio Show (AM 1150, WJBO) from 9am to 10am. Sherry Zorzi, Glenn Young and I did the "ask the experts" thing for an hour.

I joined PC Tuneup Day about 10:30. I think I worked on five differenct PC's, finishing the my last about 5:30. The last PC was finished somewhere around 5:45.

Terry
